Born with the name Jose Antonio Dominguez Banderas August 10, 1960 in Malaga, Andalusia, Spain, his father was a policeman and his mother was a teacher.
Because of injuries to play ball, Banderas turned his attention to the world of acting and schools in the School of Dramatic Art in Malaga. Since that time Spain was under the rule of dictator Franco, he was arrested for playing political drama.
He is getting seriously pursue an acting career. At age 19 he moved to Madrid and worked odd jobs as well, both as a waitress and model.
